Material is not a badge added at the end of development. It influences color, construction, surface appearance, component choices, sampling and the final written specification. XH Glasses works primarily with acetate-style sheet frame projects and can also route metal sunglasses and optical frame programs. Every material name and grade must be confirmed for the individual order.
Material, lens and branding options are reviewed project by project. Final specifications, performance claims, testing and destination-market requirements are confirmed before production.

Acetate sheet directions
For many fashion and lifestyle collections, sheet material provides broad visual freedom. A brief can begin with solid black, translucent crystal colors, tortoise or Havana-style patterns, layered colors, marbled effects, gradients or custom color references. “Acetate” should not be treated as one universal grade: supplier, composition, sheet thickness, color consistency and commercial availability must be recorded for the project. We therefore use a physical swatch, supplier reference or approved sample whenever the material identity matters.

Other plastic-frame routes
Some projects may use injection-molded or alternative polymer constructions rather than cut sheet. Common industry terms can include cellulose acetate propionate, polyamide or TR-type materials, but a commercial name alone does not prove composition or performance. XH Glasses only confirms an alternative route after reviewing construction, quantity, tooling, supplier documentation and the required market tests. A visual reference cannot establish the material.

Metal frame routes
Metal projects can be reviewed through suitable metal-family and construction directions depending on design and supply conditions. The exact grade, joining method, plating or coating system and component compatibility must be confirmed in the bill of materials. A thin-looking frame is not automatically lightweight, and a model beginning with “Ti” is not automatically titanium. Gold, silver or gunmetal describe color directions unless a written specification says otherwise.

Color, finish and visible consistency
Glossy, matte, polished, brushed, transparent and patterned appearances react differently under production lighting and photography. Digital screens are useful for direction but do not replace a signed physical sample or agreed color standard. Patterned sheet can vary naturally across the cut, so brands should decide whether variation is part of the desired look and how approval will be handled.

What must be confirmed before production
A usable specification connects the visible design with traceable purchasing and inspection information. We confirm material direction, supplier or grade where required, frame dimensions, components, colors, surface finish, logo process, lens requirements, packaging and destination-market documentation. Testing can be arranged through qualified laboratories when required, but no test or certification is assumed across products.

Prepare a material approval brief
Before asking for a quotation, identify which parts of the design are fixed and which can change. A physical frame, dimensioned drawing or marked reference can show the intended thickness, bevel, bridge, temple and hardware relationships more clearly than a mood image. List the preferred material family, color direction, finish and target market, and tell us whether a named supplier grade or supporting document is essential. If a pattern or transparent color is important, explain the acceptable variation and how you want it approved. This information helps us separate visual preferences from controlled specifications and identify material or component minimums before sampling begins.

Is all acetate the same?+
No. Acetate is a broad commercial material description. Supplier, composition, sheet reference, color, thickness and availability should be confirmed for the individual project.
Can I request a custom acetate color?+
Yes, custom color matching can be reviewed. Feasibility, minimum material quantity, lead time and acceptable tolerance depend on the selected supplier and construction.
Can titanium-family options be reviewed?+
Titanium-family sourcing can be assessed for a suitable project, but we do not describe a frame as titanium until the material grade and supply documentation are confirmed.
Can you claim a frame is hypoallergenic or eco-friendly?+
Only when the claim is precisely defined and supported by applicable material and product evidence. We do not make blanket hypoallergenic, recycled, biodegradable or eco-friendly claims.
