Plan styles and quantities

Plan an eyewear order
around MOQ.

Direct answer

XH Glasses’ typical MOQ starts from 300 pairs per style in total, with colors combined—not 300 pairs automatically required for every color. A proposed split still depends on acetate or metal colors, lenses, components, logo methods, packaging and production setup. Different frame constructions cannot automatically be combined to reach one style MOQ.

01

Define style, colorway and SKU separately

A style is one defined frame construction. A colorway changes the visible frame or lens direction while retaining that agreed construction. An SKU is the sellable frame–color–lens–logo–packaging combination. These concepts must be separated because one style can create several SKUs, each with its own sourcing and packing details. Use a stable style code and a separate SKU code for every combination.

  • Style/model code for the frame construction
  • Frame colorway and material reference
  • Lens color, treatment and claim direction
  • Logo and packaging version for the sellable SKU
02

Understand what “colors combined” permits

A buyer may propose several colors inside the 300-pair style total, but the split is not unlimited. Each acetate sheet, metal finish, lens, temple, component or printed setup can have a practical supplier or process minimum. Submit the preferred split and one acceptable alternative. The approved structure appears in the quotation rather than being inferred from this guide.

  • Preferred quantity for every frame–lens combination
  • Alternative split if a color is not feasible
  • Stock direction versus custom color request
  • Shared and unique components across colorways
03

Use illustrative scenarios carefully

Illustrative planning example only—not a quotation or production commitment: one style in one color may be planned as 300 pairs. One style in three proposed colors may total 300 pairs, subject to feasibility. Two separate frame constructions normally begin as two style-level MOQ reviews, so an initial mathematical planning point could be 600 pairs. Actual acceptance, price and schedule follow the final specification.

  • Scenario A: one style × one color × 300
  • Scenario B: one style × proposed color split × total 300
  • Scenario C: two styles × separate style MOQ reviews
  • Never treat an example as automatic production approval
04

Add lens, logo and packaging minimums

A new lens color or polarization option can create a separate SKU and supplier minimum. Custom metal emblems may require tooling or component quantities. Cases, cloths, pouches and boxes may each follow a different MOQ. Map these minimums beside the frame quantity so an accessory does not become an unexpected bottleneck after the frame plan is approved.

  • Lens combinations listed by SKU
  • Logo method and artwork versions
  • Custom component or tooling needs
  • Packaging MOQ and version by item
05

Balance launch breadth and reorder control

More styles may serve different fits and tastes, while more colorways deepen one design. Both increase samples, photography, stock and approval work. A focused range may reduce complexity, but XH does not predict sales or profit. Record likely reorder timing, material continuity needs and acceptable alternatives; every reorder remains subject to availability and a new written confirmation.

  • Commercially useful style count
  • Inventory and content workload
  • Reorder timing and material continuity
  • Acceptable substitution or color alternatives

Common mistakes

Avoid assumptions
that cannot be produced.

  1. 01Calling every color a new style or treating every style as one shared MOQ
  2. 02Dividing 300 pairs into many tiny combinations without a feasibility check
  3. 03Forgetting that a lens or custom component can have its own minimum
  4. 04Assuming the frame MOQ automatically applies to cases, cloths and boxes
  5. 05Planning a launch from unit price alone without sample, testing and inventory work

Resource FAQ

Questions before the next decision.

Is the MOQ 300 pairs per color?+

No. Typical MOQ starts from 300 pairs per style in total, with colors combined, subject to the selected materials, lenses, components, logo process and production setup.

Can I divide 300 pairs into three colors?+

A proposed color split can be reviewed, but each material, lens or component may have its own practical minimum. The approved split is confirmed in the quotation.

Do different lens colors count as the same style?+

They may share the same frame construction, but different lens materials, colors, coatings or polarization can introduce separate supplier and setup minimums.

Does ordering more styles reduce the MOQ for each style?+

Not automatically. Shared materials or packaging may improve coordination, but the feasible minimum for each frame construction remains project-specific.

Project boundary

This guide is a project-planning resource, not legal, testing or certification advice. Requirements depend on the final product, intended use, destination market and responsible economic operators. Capabilities, costs, lead times, testing and documentation are confirmed project by project and apply only when stated in the final quotation or written agreement.
