Choose a development starting point that matches the brief
A private-label project may start from buyer-owned drawings, a buyer-owned physical sample, an authorized visual reference or a defined market direction. OEM follows buyer specifications; ODM begins with an agreed concept or available construction direction and adapts it through documented development. Neither route creates automatic design ownership, exclusivity or permission to copy third-party products. Tooling, files, confidentiality and any special rights must be agreed in writing.
- Buyer-owned OEM specification
